In January we announced Tom Kilworth as the winner of the first Orpheus Composer of the Year Competition 2013. Alongside his compositional work, Tom is a conductor of both his own and others contemporary music, whilst also working as an orchestrator and arranger for Film, TV and Videogame music. Tom is undertaking a PhD at Surrey under the supervision of Professor Stephen Goss, with completion expected in 2016.


The winning piece, Noctilucent, received its premiere at St George's Church, Hanover Square on 24 January 2013. Here is a live recording of the piece performed by the Orpheus Sinfonia and conducted by Thomas Carroll.
