Spring Remembrance Concert
Orpheus Principals are privileged to have been invited to join the Khachaturian Trio for a performance of the Dohnanyi Sextet for the Spring Remembrance Concert at the Purcell Room on 13th April.
This year's Spring Remembrance Concert marks the 100th anniversary of the tragic events that befell Armenian people.
The internationally acclaimed Aram Khachaturian Trio participate in this special event to commemorate the Armenian victims of 1915.
The Khachaturian Trio was founded in 1999, when it was named the Arsika Trio. The players later adopted the name of the renowned Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian.
The Trio has toured extensively throughout Central and South America, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, China, Bulgaria, Australia, Russia and Armenia.
Together with philanthropist Assadour Guzelian, who was a close friend of Aram Khachaturian, the Trio have established a Classical Music Development Foundation. Members of the Trio also give master classes in music schools across Armenia.
The performance continues with musicians from Orpheus Sinfonia including clarinettist Rosemary Taylor, viola player Clifton Harrison and horn player Sam Pearce.
