SCHUBERT: "Unfinished Business?"

As part of our series, BENEATH THE SCORE, Artistic Director Thomas Carroll, is conductor and presenter as we reveal Franz Schubert, the man behind the music. Join us as we piece together the life and work of this important but delicate personality who captured the Viennese spirit so perfectly.

The first half of this special concert features a variety of excerpts from Schubert’s repertoire, with readings and letters read by a couple of wonderful actors. The second half features a complete performance of Schubert’s 9th Symphony (The Great C Major), the piece which defines him as a symphonic composer and is a milestone in the symphonic repertoire.
