The work of William Shakespeare has stimulated composers throughout the last 400 years. Join us in the magnificent surroundings of Holy Trinity Sloane Square where the exceptionally talented Orpheus Sinfonia will bring their abundant enthusiasm and energy to this fabulous programme, featuring some of the foremost examples of Shakespeare's legacy.

This concert, which takes place amongst the Arts & Crafts grandeur of “London’s widest church”, opens in a blaze of colour and life with Berlioz’s sparkling overture to Beatrice and Benedict, inspired by Much Ado About Nothing. Then we take you on a journey through Romeo and Juliet. Prokofiev’s powerful and iconic score to his ballet of the same name will bring to life the amazing acoustic of Holy Trinity, juxtaposing wonderfully with the simplistic beauty of Delius’ contemplative Walk in the Paradise Garden.

The evening will culminate with Bernstein’s sensational West Side Story Symphonic Dances, a dramatic re-telling of Romeo and Juliet with music full of fiery rhythms and youthful energy.
